Can you believe it? We've reached episode 50! It's halfway to 100, and I'm just so grateful for this milestone. By the way, did you know that I had a podcast before this one? It was called the Raw Pod, but it didn't quite reach 45 episodes. So reaching 50 episodes with the Career Confidence podcast feels like a huge accomplishment. I think it's important to celebrate our wins, no matter how small they may seem. So take a moment to acknowledge and celebrate something you've achieved this week too.

In today's episode, I want to take you behind the scenes and share how I coach my clients through their struggles. I want to make it practical and relatable so that you can recognize these struggles within yourself. My goal is to provide you with some practical tips based on my coaching approach to help you overcome these challenges. I know that everyone is unique and requires personalised coaching, but I'll share a general approach that I take with my clients. This will give you a glimpse into how I support them when they face these common struggles.

Let's start with the first struggle: not seeing or believing that there are opportunities out there for you. Many of my clients come to me feeling stuck and believing they’ve exhausted all their options in their career. They can't see beyond their current situation and feel like they've reached a glass ceiling. It's common to feel this way, especially when you haven't been exposed to different career paths or surrounded by people who approach their careers differently. In these cases, I help my clients get clear on what they truly want in their next career move. This may sound simple, but it involves deep introspection and reflection. Together, we uncover their desires and create a vision for their future. We also identify the practical steps required to achieve their goals, such as upskilling or networking. Additionally, I provide mindset support to challenge their limiting beliefs and open up new possibilities. By believing in themselves and envisioning opportunities, my clients gain clarity and become unstoppable.

Moving onto the second struggle: not knowing where or how to start. Once my clients have identified their career goals, it's common for them to feel overwhelmed by the next steps. They may wonder how to begin or feel pressured to achieve their goals quickly. To address this, I help them build a personalised framework. We collaborate on mapping out practical steps and setting a timeline. I offer ongoing support and accountability, setting goals every fortnight and providing guidance when roadblocks arise. This structured approach ensures steady progress towards their desired career path.

The third struggle is not believing in the power of their unique gifts and existing experience. This often arises when my clients want to pivot into a new area of law or industry. In these cases, we focus on extracting their unique gifts and transferable skills from their past experiences. We identify ways to leverage these strengths in their desired role or industry. I coach them on confidently presenting themselves and communicating their value during job applications or interviews. It's crucial to be your own advocate and recognise the value you bring, even if it's not a direct match for the desired role. Together, we find ways to bridge the gap and demonstrate their potential.

I hope these insights into my coaching approach have been helpful to you. Remember, everyone's journey is unique, and personalised coaching is essential. But by recognising these common struggles and applying the tips shared, you can overcome obstacles and make progress towards your career goals. Don't forget to celebrate your wins along the way.
